摘要

In recent years, the rapid changes in society have improved and provided access to higher nursing education. Still, nursing graduates have not improved the quality of care under the traditional nursing education system with the improvement of education level, which is a problem worth pondering by nursing educators. Furthermore, the advent of the era of globalization, coupled with migration trends of the nursing workforce and the government's promotion of the international medical industry, make the internationalization of Taiwan's nursing profession increasingly important. This article discusses the role of nursing education in nursing professional development from three directions: output, inheritance, and application. Changes in the health care model require nursing staff to have an empirically-based clinical practice, critical thinking, and communication ability. It also requires them to work collaboratively with teams to ensure the quality of care and patient safety, so a bachelor's education has become the minimum threshold for nursing education. The Master of Nursing education will further expand the role and function of the nursing profession in clinical practice to improve the quality of clinical care. Furthermore, doctoral nursing education fosters faculty and scholars who will continue to innovate and pass on nursing knowledge in the future
