Research to improve and reduce the health impacts of shift caregivers

Abstract

The global demand for shift workers is increasing year by year. Shift work is a typical work pattern in today's society. Nursing shifts are the norm, such as irregular working hours, resulting in interruptions to work and rest, and the reason why nursing staff are out of order day and night; but in order to provide patients with continuous and improved quality of care, nursing staff must work in shifts. Due to irregular working hours, nursing staff often experience maladaptation at work, affecting personal health and quality of life. The literature review summarizes the facts that affect nurses' quality of life, involving physical, psychological, interpersonal, and work environments. It recommends using diet, sleep, exercise and mental health strategies to improve their health. In addition, the government should implement a humane shift policy to improve the working environment and create a safe workplace. This research paper introduces the troubles of nurses participating in shift work in life, and hopes to help nurses adapt to shift life through appropriate strategies, so that every nurse can have a better, healthier quality and live a safe life; full of happiness and contentment.
